I, I am Blaine, I am, I am, I am Blaine... That song still bumps in my car to this day! Blaine in my opinion is one of the few artists I truly admire that I feel is ready to be on the XXL Freshman Class Cover. I had the pleasure of seeing Blaine perform live and he is definitely a true MC on the mic and on the stage . As the Face of One Chance Entertainment Global Blaine is set up to be one of the next big things in Hip-Hop music. Stay Tuned! And now... The Interview!

1.
Who is Blaine, and how did you come up with the name?

The name Blaine was a nick name that all my friends use to call me. So I stuck with the nickname and ended up turning it into my rap name. But the name came along way! It was once "Lil Blaine" & "The Rapper Blaine" I then dropped all the extra words and just kept it Blaine. Been running like that for a few years now.

2.
What is one thing that people don't know about you?

One thing that people don't know about me is that I tend to blackout while in the studio listening to a song or beat. I get so drawn into the creative process that I just close my eyes and let the music flow through me freely. That probably explains why I'm always moving my arms in live performance type manners.

3.
Who are the top 5 artists in your music playlist?

Top 5 artist that are in my playlist as of today are Kanye West, Jay Z, B.o.B, Fugees (even though there a group) & Big Krit. Each artist has a different feel to them sound dope on records.

4.
You attribute your birth into rap to the death of B.I.G., if B.I.G. was still alive, do you think you would be rapping now?

Yea, even if BIG was still alive id still be rapping till this day. Even though his death was a big influence in my decision I also had a major influence by the Fugees. So either was Rap would have been my career choice!

5.
With so much negativity surrounding hip hop nowadays, do you think hip hop music is on the decline?

I think Hip Hop is at a stable place right now. I personally think hip hop never died. As long as there's new music being introduced to us daily then the genre is still alive & breathing. But, this new roster of hip hop acts are a lot more pleasing to the ears then it was a few years ago and I plan on playing a big role in that by delivering great music for the fans.

6.
What separates you from other artists?

There's a lot of things that separate me from other artist but I think my key elements are my sound and not being Afraid to take it step further. I'm the type of artist that will listen to a song a hundred times just to see If I can throw in an extra vocal in the background to make the song pop even more. I'm never afraid to do the unthinkable to a record. There's nothing more brilliant than knowing that you have completely did all that you could to a song. You have incorporated every idea and every suggestion in someway. Masterpieces are created when you take the time to mold your music, and not when you laid down anything and release anything. There no such thing as perfect but I like to get as close as possible.

7.
What do you hope to achieve with your music?

I hope to achieve a lot with my music. When your a rapper, you basically becoming a messenger to the youth. You are what they listen to and what they base there lives around. So I plan on really being involved in molding our youth the correct way through my music. And one of my long time dreams is to win a Grammy, and plan to build music around that dream to help me achieve that goal

8.
A lot of people complain about the lack of hometown support of local artists especially in South Florida, how do you feel about it?

I feel that if you make great music, the support will come. Just give it time. Rome wasn't built in one day and neither was your rap career lol.

9.
If music was not an option what would you be doing?

I honestly don't know. Music is all I think about and would hate to not have been apart of this Industry.

10.
What would you tell kids trying to follow in your footsteps?

I'd tell all kids to just stay focused and follow your dreams. Don't follow the get quick money route and follow your goals. Your passion. Your Heart. I think of dreams as floating thoughts that are yet to be captured. And it's your job to work hard and grasp it. Never let anyone say you can't be anything and remember your mind is your biggest weapon
